About

Hi, I’m Lyn and I’m in my 30s – a coffee-loving, always-on-the-go mom, long-time freelancer, and someone who’s spent years learning how to juggle work, life, and money (sometimes the hard way). I find joy in the little wins: a budget that finally clicks, a stress-free money conversation, or the quiet confidence of knowing your finances are under control.

I created Two Budgets as a space dedicated to something many of us struggle with but rarely talk about enough: managing money as a couple or a family. Because let’s be honest: finances can get complicated, emotional, and overwhelming, especially when life gets busy.

Over time, I realized that building a healthy relationship with money isn’t about perfection. It’s about communication, simple systems, and small, consistent habits that add up.

Why I Started This Blog

Managing finances together can be stressful. Between different spending styles, long-term goals, and everyday expenses, it’s easy to feel out of sync. I wanted to create a space that makes money feel less intimidating and more manageable together.

This blog is where I share practical, real-life guidance on:

  • Budgeting systems that actually work for couples and families
  • Investing strategies designed with long-term family goals in mind
  • Wealth-building habits that grow steadily over time
  • Ways to protect what you work hard to build

What You’ll Find Here

  • Simple, realistic approaches to managing money as a team
  • Tools and systems to help you stay organized and in control
  • Honest advice from someone balancing family life, freelancing, and finances
  • A mindset shift: seeing money not as a stressor, but as a shared tool for security, freedom, and peace of mind

Whether you’re just starting your financial journey as a couple, raising a family, or trying to get back on track, I’m really glad you’re here.

A Few Fun Facts About Me

  • I’m a total coffee addict (seriously, it’s part of the workflow)
  • I love going out just as much as I love planning the budget for it
  • I’ve been a freelancer for years, so I know the ups and downs of irregular income
  • I’m a proud mom to a daughter who inspires me to think long-term about everything, especially money

Thank you for being here and being part of this journey toward calmer, more confident finances. Feel free to explore, learn, and take what works for your life.
